April 15, 2015 by Steve Guertin Leave a Comment

Benicia High’s varsity softball team made quick work of visiting Vallejo on Tuesday, rolling to an 11-0 victory in five innings.

It was the 50th straight Solano County Athletic Conference victory for the Lady Panthers, who haven’t lost a conference game since getting shut out by Vanden on March 22, 2012. Benicia is now 7-0 in the SCAC this season and 15-4 overall.

Senior Victoria Mackey pitched a complete-game shutout for the Lady Panthers, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out 10. Nataschia Wibben went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Lindsay Zimmer went 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs.

Benicia scored a run in the first inning before catching fire. The Lady Panthers scored four more times in the second inning, then batted around in a six-run third inning.

The Lady Panthers continue to hold a one-game lead over Vanden (7-2) and will travel to American Canyon on Thursday for another key SCAC game.
