Benicia High’s boys golf team won by forfeit against Bethel last Thursday after the visiting Jaguars showed up to the Mare Island Golf Course without enough players.
The Panthers played anyway and shot an even 200. Benicia was led by Evan Cuenco and Zack McClure, who each shot a 37 to share medalist honors for the match. Connor Hatfield, Nick Flores and Dustin Sparks each shot a 42 for Benicia, which improved to 8-0 in the Solano County Athletic Conference.
Benicia doesn’t play again until April 13 when the Panthers take part in the Transbay Tournament at Rossmoor Country Club.
