Benicia High’s girls golf team ran its record to 2-0 in the Solano County Athletic Conference after a 295-306 victory over visiting Vanden at Mare Island on Thursday.

Benicia sophomore Sofia Young birdied holes Nos. 1, 4 and 6 and shot an even-par 35 to earn medalist honors for the day. Teammate Jordan Whiting added a 58 for the Lady Panthers, who haven’t lost a SCAC match since 2009.

Sydney Jones fired a 63, Gabi Komoda added a 64 and newcomer Andie Wilson rounded out Benicia’s scorecard with a 75.

Benicia has a bye on Tuesday and takes on American Canyon on Thursday at Chardonnay.
