Benicia’s Senior League all-star team went 1-2 and was eliminated from the Section 1 Tournament in Santa Rosa, with both losses coming against champion North Oakland/South Oakland.

Benicia opened the tournament with a 12-4 loss to North Oakland/South Oakland last Saturday despite a home run from Zac Taugher, but the team rebounded with a 6-2 victory over host Rincon Valley on Monday.

That set up a championship series between Benicia and unbeaten North Oakland/South Oakland. Needing to win twice to advance, Benicia was ultimately eliminated after a 5-3 loss in eight innings.

“That was a tough one to swallow,” said Benicia manager Keith Lederer.
