Auditions for ‘Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her’ will be held in 2 weeks

Benicia Old Town Theatre Group will be holding open auditions for its fall play, “Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her” in a few weeks.

Written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore in 1982, “Having a Wonderful Time” tells the story of three couples. Danny and Kathy have a very voluptuous relationship, but it comes to a halt when Kathy reveals that she is in a relationship with another man. Paul and Jennifer are a married couple who are frustrated because Jennifer will not cheat on her husband. Bill and Mary are another married couple who have a dilemma over how they should spend their 29th wedding anniversary. Bill wants a night alone, while Mary wants a night of passion. As it turns out, all these couples are connected and they spend a weekend together at Bill and Mary’s. According to a synopsis, a hungry bear is also involved in the story.

BOTTG’s production will be directed by Chuck Schilling. The auditions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. , Monday, July 24 through Wednesday, July 26 at the Benicia Community Center, located at 370 East L St. There are three roles available for men and three available for women. Interested actors should come prepared with a short comedic monologue. No appointment is necessary.
