Rub-a-dub and grab some grub during Benicia Main Street’s Downtown Benicia Restaurant Week. The event begins Saturday and encourages people to spend money downtown at local restaurants by offering discounts at participating restaurants. The week is celebrated in conjunction with California Restaurant Month as a means to encourage people to dine out during the post-holiday season when people tend not patronize restaurants as much.
Restaurants participating in Downtown Benicia Restaurant Week include Aroma Indian Cuisine, Char’s Hot Dogs, Dianna’s Bakery & Cafe, First Street Cafe, Got Plate Lunch, Kinder’s BBQ, Lucca Bar & Grill, Rookies Bar & Grill, Sailor Jack’s, Union Hotel Restaurant & Bar and Venticellos Ristorante Italiano.
Some businesses will be offering special discounts. People who eat at Aroma Indian Cuisine will receive 15 percent off entire their entire order, although this cannot be combined with any other offers or the lunch buffet. Additionally, with a $10 minimum purchase customers will have 15 percent of their entire order at Char’s. Dianna’s Bakery & Café and the Union Hotel will also offer 15 percent off dicsounts, as will First Street Cafe, although orders can not be combined with any other offer. Excluding specials, Got Plate Lunch will offer 15  percent off orders. A minimum purchase of two entrees at Lucca’s is required to receive the 15 percent off orders being offers that exclude alcohol and Happy Hour Menu.
All other deals can be found on the Downtown Benicia Restaurant Week webpage at BeniciaMainStreet.org. Patrons can also download a dining passport, or pick it up at Benicia Main Street’s office, located at 90 First St.
