Benicia Biz Beat: Pet shelter gets boost from Benicia biz

December 9, 2014 by Donna Beth Weilenman Leave a Comment

THROUGHOUT DECEMBER, Bay Area Internet Connection (BAIC) Multimedia and Information Technology Solutions will donate a portion of all sales and services to the Humane Society of the North Bay, the Vallejo-based agency that rescues and places homeless pets from Benicia and other areas.

Owner C. J. Spurlock, senior IT specialist, said among the services BAIC offers are “Web and email hosting, Web design, network engineering, virus and malware removal, pre-owned PC sales and support.”

“We’re helping those that can’t help themselves,” Spurlock said.

“Donations that we make go toward food, medical and more for these unfortunate four-legged friends. And we want to help! So any purchase with us this month is now a purchase that you can feel good about!”

BAIC, in Suite C at 941 Grant St., is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Those interested may call 707-297-6789 or visit baicmultimedia.com.

Bank of the West has new branch manager

Sue Odah is the new branch manager of Bank of the West, 1001 First St.

“I bring to the historic town of Benicia 35 years of extensive banking, management and community service experience,” Odah said. “I have served the Solano County from Dec. 1, 1990, through October 1999, and then from 2008 to 2011 as a banker and manager for American Savings Washington Mutual Chase on Tennessee Street in Vallejo.”

Odah has been the local Bank of the West branch manager since Dec. 1.

“My mission is to be the best community banker in Benicia,” she said, promising to help people and to partner with new and existing businesses.

She said she expects to join the Benicia Chamber of Commerce.

When she isn’t on duty, Odah said, she likes to cook and dance.

Those interested may reach Odah by email at sue.odah@bankofthewest.com, by phone at 707-745-4900 and by fax at 707-745-5310.

The Benicia Herald’s weekly Benicia Business Beat column is an opportunity for local businesses and companies to tell our readers about business-oriented news, such as moves, grand openings, awards, promotion of employees, staff changes and changes in goods and services.

Submissions will be edited for length and content; and need to answer the questions who, what, when, where, why and how, preferably in the body of an email; and provide contact information.

Deadline is 3 p.m. Friday for news items that will appear in the next Tuesday edition’s Benicia Business Beat. Email news releases and accompanying high-resolution photographs and logos to beniciaherald@gmail.com, and put “Attn. Business Beat” in the subject line, as well as the name of the business.
