Small food plates, by executive chef Nelson Afable, will be available to those attending.

“We have had similar events previously and will be hosting more tasting events — at least two — in January,” Hill said.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at The Loft or by calling 707-745-4200. The next tasting event is Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Raceway party entertains about 300 children

Sonoma Raceway gave its 10th annual Holidays Christmas Party on Saturday, to which about 300 children from Sonoma Valley attended, Jennifer Imbimbo, senior manager of media relations, said.

The children, from infants to 12 years, were registered for the event through several Sonoma Valley youth organizations, including the WillMar Center for Grief and Healing, Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, La Luz and Stand By Me Mentoring.

They saw Santa Claus arrive by California Highway Patrol helicopter, and were entertained with balloon animals, a race car display, caroling and a lunch at the Raceway Cafe, Imbimbo said. Each child received a toy from Santa.
