Vallejo police plan Thursday DUI checkpoint

Vallejo Police Department’s Traffic Division will conduct a checkpoint Thursday to make sure motorists are carrying their driver’s licenses and are not driving while impaired, Sgt. Michael Nichelini said. The checkpoint will be set up in an undisclosed location within Vallejo’s limits, Nichelini said.

Thompson bill would simplify health care act

A bill introduced by U.S. Representatives Mike Thompson, D-Napa, and Diane Black, R-Tenn., would simplify the Affordable Health Care Act for businesses, the two members of Congress said. Thompson represents Benicia in the U.S. House. Their bill, HR 2712, is called The Commonsense Reporting and Verification Act of 2015.

Benicia gets a break on mandated water conservation target
