Freshman Angel Antonio shot a 39 and won medalist honors for a second straight time as Benicia High’s girls golf team beat host Vanden, 242-258, on Thursday at Cypress Lakes.

It was also the second straight round where Antonio shot a 39.

“We’re going to have to work on her so she can break out of that rut,” joked Benicia head coach Allan Frederick.

Sofia Young was right behind with a 40, followed by Lacey Tsutsui (51), Gabi Komoda (56) and Alexis Valentine (56).

Benicia (2-0 Solano County Athletic Conference) plays American Canyon (2-0 SCAC) on Tuesday at Chardonnay in a battle for first place.
