907 Grill changes menu to attract new customers

Millennials killed the menu at 907 Grill. Rest in peace, old 907 menu.
Don’t worry though. There’s a new menu at 907 Grill, and millennials are to thank for it.
Tucked away at 907 First St., 907 Grill has grown a loyal customer base and become a destination spot in Benicia since it first opened in 2012. Nine O Seven Grill used to serve traditional restaurant and Mexican food. The menu was changed because of customer inquiries and requests. Ann-Marie Ramos, who co-owns 907 Grill with her husband Randy, said the generational change and millennials becoming the driving force behind restaurant visits were also factors as to why the menu changed.
“We tried to go more custom sizable plates rather than entrées,” Ramos said. “We found that most of our customers are not eating like that anymore. We used to offer grits, soup, salads and a bunch of entrees. So went and decided to go more small plate.”
Prices will stay relatively the same. Plate sizes may have shrunk at 907, but the of cost the plate is smaller as well, Ramos said.
“You can come in and order a taco; order some nachos,” she said. “You can order a hamburger. You can order some ceviche. Everything is custom ordered, so you can order based on what you are in the mood for rather than one entree.”
Ramos recommends 907’s tacos, saying the restaurant has a wide variety of the Mexican favorite. She also mentioned the restaurant has several different types of hamburgers, like a hangover burger, and offers a Mexican breakfast on Sundays.
In addition to the new menu, 907 added a full bar to the restaurant. The management even pushed back on the restaurant’s walls so they could have a sit-down bar, Ramos said. The bar will serve drinks like on-tap beer and classic martinis.
Despite the changes, other generations should not feel alienated. Ramos said some of the regular baby boomer and centennial customers have really enjoyed the changes to the menu and restaurant. Ramos hopes these changes to 907 will drive younger people to the bar and grill.
“We offer a great product and great price,” she said. “It’s a great atmosphere and it’s a great social lounge.”
A soft opening has already been held, but the grand opening re-launch of 907 Grill will take place Saturday, Sept. 30 from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Benicia’s restaurants need to offer more vegan options! It’s a trend now and so far Solano County is falling far behind compared to the rest of the Bay Area!

We loved the old menu and we love the new menu. 907 is an awesome restaurant and we love the caring, friendly service that we always receive. I highly recommend 907 for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Keep up the good job. The remodel is awesome too.
