Benicia’s 10/11 all-star team won its first two games at the District 53 Tournament in Fairfield, beating St. Helena 15-3 on Saturday and Tri-Valley 9-7 on Sunday.

Patrick Fernandez pitched a complete game against St. Helena and struck out seven while T.J. Peters went 3-for-4 with seven RBIs. Peters pitched five innings and struck out seven in the win over Tri-Valley while Fernandez went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Benicia’s defense turned two double plays.

Benicia (2-0) takes on Napa National in a winner’s bracket game Tuesday.
