Voters who have moved need to update their voter registration if they expect to vote in the June 3 primary elections, Assistant Registrar of Voters John Gardner said.
The last day to register or correct a current registration is May 19, he said.
“Unlike telephone numbers or your mail, voter registration does not follow you when you move,” Gardner said.
Nor can a voter registration card be amended, he said. “The signed voter registration must reflect the voter’s current address.”
As of Monday, Solano County had 208,221 registered voters. Of those 55 percent are permanent vote-by-mail voters.
To verify that the address on file is current, a resident may visit the Solano County election Web page, www.solanocounty.com/elections, and select the red “Verify Voter Registration” button, Gardner said.
“To make changes to your registration, a new registration form must be submitted,” he said.
The online form available at www.registertovote.ca.gov can be completed in less than 5 minutes, he said.
Voters who need assistance with their registration records can call 707-784-6675 or visit the Registrar’s Office on the second floor of the Solano County Administration Center, 675 Texas St., Fairfield, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Gardner said.
