Solano task force investigation snares two Vallejo men
Three men, two from Vallejo, who were being investigated by the Solano County Violent Gang Safe Streets Task Force, were indicted last week by a federal grand jury on charges of being felons in possession of a firearm, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner said.
Two Vallejo men, Ignacio Hernandez, 37, and Rahson Woods, 35, as well as Michael Quesenberry, 26, Sacramento, were charged, Wagner said.
He said each was found to be in possession of a firearm after having been convicted of one or more felonies. In addition, Hernandez was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
If convicted, each could receive a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, Wagner said, though sentencing would be at the discretion of the court after considering statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
“The charges are only allegations,” Wagner said. “The defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”
The Solano County Violent Gang Safe Streets Task Force is part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation-sponsored Safe Streets Initiative. It is a team comprised of representatives of the FBI, Solano County Sheriff’s Office, Vallejo Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Solano County District Attorney’s Office.
Assistant United States Attorney Olusere Olowoyeye is prosecuting the cases.
