Season comes to an end for SPSV girls volleyball team

The St. Patrick-St. Vincent High girls volleyball team had its season come to an end last Saturday in Lafayette after a 25-13, 25-15, 25-21 loss to Acalanes in the North Coast Section Division III quarterfinals.

The Lady Bruins, seeded sixth in the tournament, got off to a poor start against No. 3 seed Acalanes and never recovered. SPSV, which had no blocks in the match, finished with a 24-13 overall record.

Freshman Caroline Gallagher led the Lady Bruins with eight kills, six digs and three aces. Senior Candice Turk and sophomore Makahla Bolko each had seven kills, and Shaina Snyder added 11 digs. Freshman Freshman Chloe Ortega had nine assists and eight digs, and sophomore Kamryn Mitchell had 13 assists.

Acalanes will play at Miramonte on Wednesday in the semifinals.
