Tim and Laurie Merrill took Best in Show at Saturday’s Relay for Life car show and chili cook-off for their classic Chrysler Hot Rod, pictured above. Benicia City Treasurer Ken Paulk won second place for his Texas style chile recipe, close behind Denis Keary, who took first place in both the people’s choice category and the judges’ pick.
Funds raised at the event went to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life program. This year’s relay will be held Aug. 19 and 20 at Benicia Middle School.
