Poetry Corner: Krandall Kraus “Lenten Love Song”

March 3, 2017 by Editor Leave a Comment

Like Lazarus I rise from deepest sleep
And walk into your arms, wakened by a song
That, could they hear, would make the Sirens weep.
So I give in, and giving in, grow strong.
Your hand upon my cheek, our limbs entwined,
Seem like a dream I pray won’t fade with dawn.
All night we lie far from the reach of Time.
The hours, like clouds above, move far beyond
Our caring as we whisper, moan and sigh
Our love into each other’s ear. Your breath
Breathes life into my soul, as golden thighs
Bear tight, then shudder as my lips caress
The sweet and secret spark of you that lights
A fire within me. I warn you: fires you start
Will burn through me to you, from heart to heart.
