Night closes in.
Doves have fed among the rocks.
Water glistens in the distance.
Tiny whitecaps rise and fall.
Shadows stretch from shore to shore.
Life ritually settles.
A quiet time drops slowly.
Calmness enfolds us all.
A tugboat muscles its way,
Pushing water aside in its journey.
Long rays of light,
Signal end of day.
Hard to see with the eyes,
But the mind crystal clear.
Morning dew will hold,
Where before soft birds lay.
Coolness enters with a whisper,
Through screened windows.
Rivers of air,
In embracing hugs flow.
Evening at last.
A good day seen.
A caress, a touch.
Loving hearts know.
The stroke of a hand.
The nod of a head.
No words spoken,
Day’s duty done.
Challenge, hope, and prayer.
Arms encircle, tenderly soft, yet firm.
Held close your love.
Two hearts as one.
