Ghosts and goblins all around Everybody’s going underground;
Chaos in the world abounds People jump at every sound
Poltergeists in every room
Prophesize impending doom; Skeletons in all our clothes
A universe in sad repose
Life has reached a frantic pace
Everybody needs their space; Pollution causes trees to wilt While nations justify their guilt
Everybody’ s up in arms
Freedom fighters sound alarms; Science fiction, star wars dreams
Result in monolithic schemes
Negotiations all in shambles
While leaders double talk, and ramble;
Patience wearing very thin,
I think ecause no one can win
Catastrophic, claustrophobic
A population going aerobia;
Our monetary niche to carve
Who cares as populations starve
Predictions of a golden age Nostalgia, turning back a page; Which will it be—the past or future
Into which we carve a suture
Penury among the classes
Poverty among the masses;
Atmospheric poison gasses
C’mon, let’s everybody raise their glasses
You and me against a wall Humpty Dumpty took a fall; Jesus had a lot at stake
Marie said “Let ’em all eat cake”
Farms..are passé ,tools rust TV, movies based on lust;
Oh, please. . .MY KID on angel dust?
Is there ANYBODY one can trust?
Foreign intrigue, spies and slander
Loving couples who philander;
Parents “searching”kids that roam
Isn’t anybody home?
Dreams and reams of fairy tales
Drug filled nights..when all else fails
Caustic, cryptic, inhumane
Flights of fantasy, insane
Politicians sell us down the river
A modest shrug, it makes you shiver
A corpse without the slightest quiver
At AIDS express, we do deliver.
Children neither heard nor seen
There’s no more smiling Mr. Clean
Instead, you hear the frightened scream
‘Cause every day is Halloween.
