The Northern California Pirate Festival is returning to the Vallejo Waterfront Park Fathers’ Day weekend, and organizers are offering tickets at half price through Thursday.
These are the early bird ticket sales, offered for admission to the family-oriented entertainment both Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18, as well as the adult entertainment Buccaneer Bash
The Northern California Pirate Festival is the largest pirate event in the United States and is organized by a group of theatrical and outdoor event professionals who describe the activities as “equal parts Mardi Gras, state fair, living history and pegged-leg eye-patch-wearin’ fan fest.”
The event has four stages with continuous musical and theatrical entertainment, ship to shore cannon battles and performers portraying historic pirates and the British Naval officers who have vowed to bring them to justice. Meanwhile, swimming in a tank will be beautiful mermaids.
In addition, vendors will be selling crafts, clothing, pirate memorabilia, food and beverages.
Organizers welcome those attending to dress as pirates as well.
Early Bird specials are $6 per day.
Once the early bird half-price special concludes, advance tickets will be available for purchase. Premium all-weekend passes, including the Buccaneer Bash night show, will be sold online for $25; and online weekend day passes for June 17 and 18 will be $20. Separate Buccaneer Bash admission is $15. Single day admissions will be $12 per person.
Children 11 and younger must have tickets, but their admission is free.
I n addition, those who want to support the festival may do so through becoming members of the Plank Owner Club at $95. That membership comes from the term for crew members who were around a ship when it was built and commissioned, since they could claim rights to planks of the main deck.
Northern California Pirate Festival’s Plank Owners receive certain privileges and perks that other attendees do not.
Online ticket sales end June 16. Tickets are available online through the festival’s website, https://www.norcalpiratefestival.com.
