Ben, a cartoon city ambassador drawn by Benicia artist Joe Leon, can be seen here by the First Street Pier. The idea behind Ben, a project of Heritage Presbyterian Church’s “How to Make the World a Better Place” series, is to post pictures of him in various places to promote the city of Benicia and the idea of positivity. Ben can be downloaded at hpcbenicia.org, cut out and colored with markers, crayons, or colored pencils. A “pre-colored” version can also be used. Photos should be sent to betterworldbenicia@gmail.com by April 16, and a display will be planned for May. For more information on the Better World series, go to www.hpcbenicia.org/make-world-better.
