Garrett Wymer (Far left), a senior at Benicia High School, was recently promoted to chief petty officer of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Approximately 1 percent of all sea cadets ever achieve the rank of chief petty officer. Wymer was honored in a ceremony Saturday at the Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum, where his father and commanding officer Lt. Steve Wymer (Center) read a statement about his son.
