A video tour of Benicia will be presented to the members of the Tourism Committee of the Economic Development Board on Thursday.
The series of short films give an overview of what the city offers, from places to shop and dine to sights to see.
Some films also highlight the advantages of doing business in Benicia and relocating to the city.
“We will look at incorporating it into our visitor marketing,” said Teri Davena, city administrative assistant.
In other business, city staff has secured a space at the Benicia Certified Farmers Market on the second Thursday of each month for a “Discover Benicia” table.
The promotional effort will begin May 9.
“The thought is to have a table at the farmers market … through the run of the market (in October),” Davena said.
She said participation by Tourism Committee members is encouraged. Meanwhile, she said, the city will try to determine if there is interest from Visit Benicia partners — including Arts Benicia, Benicia Main Street, the Chamber of Commerce, Benicia Historical Museum and others — to provide collateral material and to volunteer to staff the table for those six dates.
“The goal being to remind visitors to the market of all the events and activities available right here in Benicia, and for some, right here in their own hometown,” Davena said.
Also on the agenda Thursday: an update by Bonnie Silveria on a new historical grant; committee updates on assignments for Sunset Weekend, Discover Benicia and corporate tours; representative reports; and an update on the Waterfront Park Master Plan.
