One man has died and another was reported in critical condition Tuesday night after Vallejo police received reports of a shooting in the area of 501 Fairgrounds Drive, Sgt. Steven Cheatham said.

Officers were called to the site at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday, where they found one wounded man inside a business, Cheatham said.

“When the patrol officers arrived, an additional male shooting victim was located inside of a car in front of the business,” he said.

Although officers took measures to save the man who was found inside the business, he died at the scene, Cheatham said.

The wounded man found in the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, he said.

Vallejo homicide detectives are continuing the investigation of the murder and attempted murder, Cheatham said.
