The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Solano County will host their annual wreath making workshop on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Learn how to create a beautiful and unique wreath from items gathered by the Master Gardeners. Foliage, wreath forms and natural decorations are provided.
The master gardeners will also offer a separate marketplace where participants and the public may purchase hand made, donated items. Purchases must be made by cash or check only.
The Master Gardener Volunteer Program is a partnership among the University of California, the USDA, county governments and California residents. The mission of the program is to extend to the public research-based information, verified by UC experts, about home horticulture, pest identification, landscape maintenance and other environmental issues. All programs emphasize the importance of sustainable landscape practices in addressing multiple environmental concerns, including water and air quality, energy and soil conservation, invasive species, and waste management.
The Methodist Church is located at 1875 Fairfield Ave. in Fairfield. The cost for the workshop is $50. Reservations are requested by Nov. 30. Contact Program Coordinator Jennifer Baumbach at jmbaumbach@ucanr.edu or 389-0645 for reservations or further information.
