On Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. a panel will be held at the Benicia Public Library, featuring three speakers. The panelists will be Monica Brown, Ana Petero, and Susannah Delano. These women will discuss the topic “What will it take to get a woman on the 2020 ballot.”
Monica Brown is our Solano County Supervisor for District 2, which includes Benicia. She is up for re-election on March 3.
Ana Petero is the secretary on the Solano Commission for Women and Girls “Adopt-a-Street” volunteer. Ms. Petero has previously ran for office.
Susannah Delano has worked over 15 years to promote good health and the empowerment of women. She is also the executive director of Close the Gap California.
Each speaker will share what they have contributed for the empowerment of women and what they are doing to get a woman on the ballot. The audience will be able to ask questions.
A main topic of the night is how can we get women into office at any level of civic service and government. These women are all involved in running for office, helping other women run, and they each offer a unique and inspiring perspective. Please join us for this engaging conversation on getting a woman on the 2020 ballot, and hopefully inspire and empower multiple generations for years to come.
This event was brought to our community by the Women and Youth Caucus and the Progressive Democrats of Benicia.
