Preserving our history
In response to C.J. Fitzsimmons’ letter, it is sad that we are losing all our historical monuments just because this generation doesn’t like what they stand for. How can we remember the history of our country without monuments to remind us of good or bad decisions made by previous generations? People have made decisions based on facts and knowledge of that era.
The Union Hotel need not remove any part of their stained glass windows. If you don’t like it, walk on the opposite side of the street. The Confederate flag stands for those brave people who defended our country.
