California must stand strong on electric vehicles
Transportation is the biggest source of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Zero emission vehicles are a great way to cut down on both. In addition they save money and are powerful, fun cars to drive.
California has been in the lead in getting these vehicles on the road.
The California Air Resources Board should keep its Zero Emission Vehicle program strong to give more consumers choice. The board is meeting on Thursday, March 24, to review their program. Urge them to strengthen it and not give into auto company demands.
On April 2, come to the Benicia Mini Maker Faire and see firsthand some
great zero emission vehicles, including a Tesla and a hydrogen powered
Honda. Talk to drivers about why these cars are great to own and
drive.

Agree with Susan
This is to say thank you to Susan Street for expressing what I and others have wanted to say about Bob “The Owl” Livesay’s letter writing in the March 14 paper.
I moved to Benicia in 2014, so I’m a newbie to this lovely town for the most part. My husband and I love living here, and its people wonderful for the most part. I began getting the newspaper so I could get to know what, who and where to find things that were either of interest or need. The one thing that I’ve found I don’t need– just as I don’t need a president who is a liar, thief and basically not a nice person in my view of things– is these chest blowing, finger pointing, arrorgant toned letters by “The Owl.” It’s great that he cares, but his letter writing is something I do not like or want and frankly don’t need. An owl is a predator and attacks what they can and find unable to get away from them. We’re all adults here, and I do not need a self-appointed person to “look out for” me or the wonderful people in Benicia. I would like to see letter writing limited to one letter a quarter from people like “The Owl” so others can have their opinion expressed as I have here.
I do request no reply please from Mr. Livesay as I don’t care if he likes what I’ve expressed or not. Before it’s against the law, thank you for allowing my view to be shared and expressed.
As for Susan Street, if I should ever get to know you, I’ll thank you in person for saying what so many have wanted to.
Denise Millazzo,
Benicia
