Don’t be fooled
I have talked about the “Shadow Government, the self-appointed leader of whom appears to be Mayor Patterson. Her self-appointed second in command is Vice Mayor Young. She is now hard at work to get Birdseye elected to the City Council as a third vote and have a very simple majority. Now she wants her pro bono lawyer confirmed to the Planning Commission, in what I can assume is preparation for the 2020 City Council election. Her desire appears to be total control of the City Council by 2020. Vice Mayor Young is the heir apparent to the throne as the leader of the “Shadow Government” in the near future. Planning ahead is good but not at the expense of the very fine residents of this city.
I have also noticed that the mayor and her candidate are birds of a feather that flock together” Both do not like the money-making digitals signs. I am not sure why they dislike money in the bank for Benicia to pay more bills. Oh, I got it, the money did not go to the hijacked ISO group.
Now that the retail cannabis locations are out and at some time will appear before the Planning Commission, will City Council candidate Birdseye recuse herself? As chair, she should or it will be a very biased vote. It appears she wanted three retail locations, the other being in the Lower Arsenal. That type of business will be in the Arsenal if anyone applies. It will have delivery capabilities but no retail on site.
Now let’s talk about the three Democratic groups in Solano County who endorsed this candidate, such as the Socialist— I mean, Progressive Democrats of Benicia. These groups want complete control of both elected and appointed candidates. They will only support a candidate that backs their very narrow thinking. Sorry, Christina, you are a victim of biased thinking and hijacked Democratic groups. They will not help you. That now seems to be a blessing.
It appears the residents/voters are taking note of both the Socialist Democrats and the “Shadow Government” biased attempt at a complete takeover of the elected City Council. Urgent message to Democratic voters: Do not let these biased groups take over this city. Elect the right City Council candidates. There are two of them, and Birdseye is not one of them. It is your city, do not lose it.

Kari is committed
I’m voting for Kari Birdseye for Benicia City Council because Benicia deserves a voice of reason and an individual who is able to look at the data and trends and make sound decisions on policies and actions that will impact our daily and future lives.
Kari, through her commitment to community service, especially her service on the Benicia Planning Commission, has deep insight to the concerns and opportunities facing our city.
Benicia has a “maturing” (or hopefully gracefully “aging”) population that will bring new needs and possibilities to our community. As housing, and affordable housing are issues facing the Bay Area, we will need someone to make good decisions on insuring that all segments of our citizens are addressed through city services. With environmental realities including a year round fire season and increasing pollution from Bay area refineries and transportation, our children and seniors who are especially vulnerable to poor air quality will need council voices and votes to protect their health.
Benicia needs an advocate in promoting the potential of our city’s contribution to a sustainable community and vibrant arts, culture and food destination. Kari Birdseye is that advocate.

Misleading ‘poll’ calls
Did you get the “polling” call yet? Already big money is trying to get its hands on our election here in Benicia. It was no poll, it was propaganda for one candidate, under the guise of a poll. Giving leading statements and then asking if you agree or disagree is a way to influence you to vote for someone in particular.
This is outside money trying to influence our elections. Benicia has a clean, and transparent election policy and clearly outside corporations or PACs don’t meet this. Outside money is trying to sway our election. Who would benefit from this?

All that sounds good Constance but where do we get the money for all this? You talk a good game but with the CalPers going to 14 mil in the very near future. their will not be any money to make all these so called good sound decisions.. Words do not get it. Plans with specific goals do get it. BIRDSEYE has none. Being an advocate is just a recommendation without funds to move forward. So as you see words are not very important, action is.

Who was the one candidate Susan? Did you get the call? Who was the candidate that was supposedly damaged and who was the candidate that furthered their cause. That is a question that you should answer. If you do not have an answer you are claiming biased on I assume your candidate. Would that be Birdseye?. If so who is the other candidate? That is the important answer I would like to hear from you. It appears you are pointing fingers at a candidate without naming that candidate. So I will call your comment just biased and unimportant.
