Delightful Semple event for a good cause
Regarding the Jan. 30 article on Robert Semple Elementary, I attended the school’s second annual Teacher Lip Sync Battle on Thursday, Feb. 1.
The event was a delight. A shout-out is needed to the teachers and other staff members who participated in the program. As a retired teacher of 39 years, I know the effort it takes to put on these shows. However, the rewards are great. Students will remember that you participated in the event and deep down know that you care about them.
The money raised goes to the Outdoor Education Program to fund the Coloma trip. What a wonderful experience for students to walk on the grounds John Sutter walked.
To the audience reading this letter, if you can send $5 to $10 to the school, it will help. Students remember their field trips. Help if you can so every fourth and fifth- grader can attend. Thank you.
