Letter: Birdseye for council

September 21, 2018 by Editor 1 Comment

Birdseye for council

Ever since I was elected to be your supervisor, I have found Kari Birdseye to be a tireless advocate for Benicia. Nearly two decades ago, Kari and her husband chose to make Benicia their home. Kari raised her family in Benicia, put her kids through Benicia’s schools and volunteered numerous hours as a Benicia PTA mom.
As a Planning Commissioner, Kari voted to deny the crude-by-rail proposal immediately after the hearing. Kari knew right away that crude by rail was bad for Benicia. After the flareup last year at the refinery, we saw the need for an Industrial Safety Ordinance (ISO) in Benicia. Kari is unabashed in her support of the proposed ISO.
Kari will be your voice, your champion and your neighbor at City Hall. Whether it’s working to improve Benicia’s schools or fighting to keep Benicia’s environment safe, Kari has proven that she can be counted on.
On Tuesday, Nov. 6– or earlier by mail– please vote for Kari Birdseye for Benicia City Council.

Monica Brown;
Solano County Supervisor, District 2

    Monica you are correct Kari is an unabashed supporter of the ISO all put together by the mayor and her Patterson twelve with a pro bono lawyer as part of an attempt to hi-jack the city council and they lost twice. The challenge was then put on the shoulders of Valero and they are advancing the issues very well. No help from mayor Patterson or Vice Mayor young or your favorite candidate Birdseye. She is not what this fine city of Benicia needs. Another Socialist. Do not vote for Birdseye.
