I PRAY THAT I MAY HAVE THE GRACE
To write remaining humble
And entertain the people whom
Upon my poems may stumble
I pray I’m granted wisdom
And good humor to convey
An insight or a smile
That just might brighten up a day
I pray the world is kind and just
And people live in peace
I pray the pain that children feel
Be tended and will cease
I pray I’ve made a difference
Even if it’s very small
I pray that blessings be bestowed
To each and to you all
These words I cast upon the wind
The world and all around
I pray that it’s a better place
Than when at first I found
