The half-life of a poem, alas
Is only 15 minutes
The thoughts and feelings fade away
And all that’s held within it
Every day I post another
I might write too many
Poems that tell you I’m still here
Still spewing words a’plenty
Swirling thoughts I must let out
To clarify my brain
Even though I clear them out
It seems some still remain
The way I see the world proves that
Insanity still rules
And so it goes with poets,
Paupers, presidents and fools
