Every couple years
The World Olympic Games are aired
We have to turn on NBC
To see how countries fared
Michael Phelps is mining gold
The pride of Baltimore
Tiny little gymnasts
Tara, Weir; but wait there’s more!
The network’s spending billions
So that we will watch “Today”
In hopes that they can sell some soap
And watch them every day
We see so many talking heads
And Kings and Pawns and Jokers
And then the news and weather
Through the eyes of Lauer
and Roker
Divers dive in pools of green
And ‘skeeters full of Zika
Starving people, super models
Gotta take a peeka
I watch it for a fortnight
And I put up with the panel
When it’s finally over
I can’t wait to change the channel
