Always on March seventeen
As all good Irish say
Don a bit of green me friends
Observe St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick rid old Eire of snakes
There’s still none to be found
To celebrate tradition makes
Our past mean more I’ve found
Eat some corned beef brisket
It’s a hearty Irish fare
And if you choose to risk it
Eat some cabbage if you dare
Drink that Irish whiskey lads
Until ye be so bold
A leprechaun permits you to
Take home his pot of gold
On this day we celebrate
With alcohol abuse
The Irishmen that I have known
To drink need no excuse
