Staff Report
The Public Works Department has issued a traffic advisory Thursday for the signalized intersection at Hillcrest Avenue and East 2nd Street between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. while a contractor installs new battery backup equipment, according to a city news release.
The intersection’s traffic lights may be flashing or experience a momentary loss of power. When this occurs, drivers are advised to treat the intersection like a four-way stop and drive with caution in the area, especially since it is located near Robert Semple Elementary School and the interruption will take place while school is getting out. The other lights on East 2nd Street as well as Eastbound and Westbound Interstate 780 will not be affected, according to the news release.
Those seeking further information are advised to call Drake Valentine, acting Public Works maintenance superintendent, at (707) 746-4297.
