You better watch out. You better not cry. You better not pout and here’s why:
Santa Claus is coming to town.
That’s right, Santa comes to Benicia a little early on Saturday, Dec. 9 to visit with all the little girls and boys. First, he will be present for Benicia Main Street’s annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Market, along with several marching bands, dancers and creatively designed automobiles. The parade will be held along First Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Later in the day, the Benicia Fire Department’s Station 11 will host Mr. Kringle’s visit from the North Pole for a meet and greet photo opportunity. Special needs children can get their photo taken with Santa from 2 to 3 p.m. No RSVP will be required. From 4 to 7 p.m., other children can wait to see Saint Nick and while they are in line, these children can enjoy the magic of Gerald Joseph. The event will be free, but unwrapped gift donations for Toys for Tots are encouraged. Toys for Tots donations are also accepted at Fire Station 12 on 601 Hastings Drive, the Benicia Community Center on 370 East L St. and the Benicia Senior Center on 187 East L St. Fire Station 11 is located on 150 Military West,
In the past, Mr. Claus has made stops at Pizza Pirate and the Southampton Shopping Center, but times and dates have not been confirmed.
Of course, Santa will return to Benicia on Dec. 25 but only to the houses of those who have been good.
