FIRST ST. CAFE, 440 FIRST ST., is changing how it operates its birthday club, and no longer will send out notices in the mail.
Instead, its new system will use the mobile phone numbers of those who enroll at the restaurant’s website, www.firststcafe.com.
Those enrolling will be able to deduct the cost of a single entree from the bill as the restaurant’s birthday gift.
Care recruiter helps other companies grow
With 80 percent of the work force in most areas made up of dual working families, and with one in six employees caring for children or elderly relatives or both, many are turning to outside services for housekeeping and child or parent care, said Jackie Copp, publicist.
In Rancho Cordova near Sacramento, Domestic Goddess Cleaning Services has nearly doubled its business in six months with the help of Care.com’s Recruiting Solutions, Copp said.
Care.com, an international website, is the first dedicated recruiting platform for companies that hire care providers, Copp said. The company provides access to more than a million care providers, and allows them to post job opportunities.
Care.com also connects families with individual caregivers and care-providing companies, though it does not employ, recommend or endorse any care provider or care seeker or provide medical advice or treatment, Copp said.
