Arts Benicia will host another Family Art Day this Sunday, June 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. The gallery has been offering the free event for several years, always in conjunction with the latest exhibition. The current show, “Forma Natura,” will be on display through Sunday, July 10.
Families are invited to stop by Sunday to tour the exhibit, then proceed into the classroom to create art, taking inspiration from the pieces in the show. Materials similar to those seen in the gallery will be provided free of charge.
Docents from the Youth Arts Committee will be on hand to help visitors create two- or three-dimensional art using natural or nature-inspired supplies along with paper and watercolor or acrylic paints.
According to project coordinator Susan Bunch, the Forma Natura-themed event should appeal to school age children as well as middle and high schoolers. All ages are welcome.
For more information visit the Arts Benicia website at artsbenicia.org or call them at 747-0131. Arts Benicia is located at 991 Tyler St., Suite 114.
