Northgate Christian Fellowship church will ask Benicia Planning Commission on Thursday to approve a use permit that would allow modification to its current site plan, construction phasing and building design.
Suzanne Thorsen, associate planner, wrote in a Nov. 25 report that the church also wants to add modular buildings and outdoor storage to its campus at 2201 Lake Herman Road.
The church also wants to shift placement of its sanctuary building.
However, no changes would be made to the “overall intent, square footage, parking lot and footprint” of the original 2004 approval of the final build-out, Thorsen wrote, though the total building area for the site would be reduced slightly, from 51,595 to 50,619 square feet. Parking would remain at 548 spaces and total development area would be 10.9 acres at buildout, she wrote.
Thorsen wrote that the proposed use permit would be compatible with the city’s General Plan and the property’s zoning, and she recommended approval.
The commission also will vote on its 2015 meeting calendar.
Benicia Planning Commission will meet at 7 Thursday night in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 250 East L St.
