Benicia Chamber of Commerce’s “An Evening With the Stars” will give residents a chance to dress up as their favorite celebrities, and bid for exclusive merchandise and experiences, some of which aren’t generally available.
Costumes are optional, but the Chamber event is the opportunity to impersonate a favorite movie, Broadway or television star.
In addition, those attending the party will get to bid on multiple upscale items and packages.
One is an exclusive to the Benicia Chamber of Commerce. It’s the opportunity to meet four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion driver Jeff Gordon at the 2014 Sprint Cup Series race in Fontana, California.
This three-day race package, which includes lodging, isn’t available to the public and is special to the auction, Chamber staff said.
Bidders also can try to win two tickets to see the American League West Champion Oakland A’s in Field Level seats behind home plate during the 2014 season.
Baseball fans also may bid on the chance to throw out the first pitch while 11 friends watch from box seats during a Vallejo Admirals 2014 baseball game.
Also available at the auction is a scenic Napa Valley airplane ride for two that includes wine and a picnic lunch.
Golfers may bid on golf for four and lunch at Green Valley Country Club.
A Port of Benicia tour with a roll-on, roll-off vessel tour for eight, including lunch, is another auction item, as are a wine-themed mystery dinner for six to eight guests; an art glass bowl, and wine tasting that includes a driver and lunch for for six who will get to visit several high-end, boutique wineries.
Among other auction items are a four days and three nights in a one-bedroom condominium at Hilton Grand Vacations Suites on the las Vegas, Nev., strip, including an air fare gift card; a Vista Dome lunch package for two aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train; and an authentic Spanish home-cooked dinner for eight.
Tickets are $55 each, and are available only through today (Friday, Oct 18). No tickets will be sold at the door.
Admission includes a gourmet, sit-down steak and salmon dinner, the live auction, a costume contest and dancing.
VIP, Table of Eight, Guest and Walk of Fame sponsorships also are available.
The event is Oct. 25 at the Clock Tower, 1189 Washington St., starting at 6 p.m. with the VIP Sponsors’ reception. They will have preferred parking and seating, recognition at the event and other amenities.
Cocktails at a no-host bar will be served starting at 6:45 p.m., and dinner will start at 7:30 p.m. The auction is at 8:15 and lasts an hour, after which the costume contest begins. Dancing to music begins at 9:30 p.m.
