Benicia High’s varsity volleyball team ran its record to 17-0 overall and 9-0 in the Solano County Athletic Conference after a 25-13, 20-25, 25-4, 25-21 victory over host Bethel on Tuesday.
Cassidy Jannson had 16 kills, two aces and 11 digs for the Lady Panthers, who dropped only their second set in SCAC play this season. Megan Osterholt added seven kills and 11 digs, and Kellie Sluga had six kills and six aces. Other standouts for Benicia included Eden Fukushima (four aces, seven digs), Jessica Blakeman (four kills) and Lana Gore (three blocks).
Benicia currently leads the SCAC by two games over Vanden and hasn’t lost a conference match since Sept. 13, 2011. The Lady Panthers travel to American Canyon on Thursday.
