Benicia High’s varsity volleyball team cruised to a 25-8, 25-9, 25-10 victory over host Fairfield last Thursday and improved to 3-0 in the Solano County Athletic Conference.
Senior Jessica Blakeman had 13 kills, five digs and three aces for the Lady Panthers, who improved to 4-1 overall. Emily Maher added 11 kills and teammate Amanda Ajari had 18 assists and nine aces.
Other standouts for Benicia included Natalie Sluga (13 assists, four aces), Taylor Lewis (five digs) and Sara McBride (four digs). Benicia had 22 aces on the night and served at 97.3 percent.
Benicia plays at Vanden (3-0 SCAC) on Tuesday in a battle for first place.
