Struggles continued for Benicia High’s boys tennis team after a 7-2 loss against Bethel on Tuesday.
It was the fourth straight loss for the Panthers, who dropped to 7-6 in the Solano County Athletic Conference with two matches remaining in the regular season. Benicia is trying to hold off Bethel for third place with one more meeting remaining between the two teams.
Devin Witham picked up his first varsity victory for the Panthers, winning his No. 5 singles match, 5-7, 7-6 (7-2), 6-0. Katsuya Wako also earned his first varsity victory after winning 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
