Benicia High’s varsity swim teams capped off an unbeaten Solano County Athletic Conference regular season with a dominating performance against Bethel at the James Lemos Swim Center on Wednesday.
Tim Man won the 100 breastroke (1:08.07) and 200 IM (2:23.07) for the Panther boys, who beat Bethel 130-35. Luke Arechy won the 100 backstroke (1:05.81) and the 500 freestyle (5:29.83) while Cris Gomez took first in the 50 freestyle (23.54) and 100 freestyle (52.74). Daniel Sanderson won the 200 freestyle (1:56.23) and 100 butterfly (58.15).
Sanderson, Gomez, Nick Barlow and Evan Sousa teamed up to win the boys 200 freestyle relay (1:35.69). Arechy, Sousa, Barlow and Xavier Quintana won the 200 medley relay (1:49.46), and Arechy, Sanderson, Quintana and Moose Simonson won the 400 freestyle relay (3:39.44).
Alyssa Powell won the 100 freestyle (58.52) and 100 butterfly (1:03.20) for the Lady Panthers, who beat Bethel 133-26. Other individual event winners for the Lady Panthers included Nicole Peck in the 200 IM (2:32.46), Hannah Barlow in the 50 freestyle (26.65), Amelia Arechy in the 200 freestyle (2:19.49), Rachel Henley in the 500 freestyle (6:31.42), Esther Hurst in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.24) and Talia Peterson in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.28).
