Benician offers tennis lessons
Bud Light, a Benician who is a member of the United States Tennis Association and the Professional Tennis Registry, has started teaching tennis classes locally.
Light is a teaching professional at Hiddenbrooke Golf and Country Club, 1095 Hiddenbrooke Parkway, Vallejo, and also teaches at Glen Cove Courts, 1400 Glen Cove Parkway, Vallejo. He teaches singles and doubles, and accepts students at all skill levels.

Four ‘Project Runway’ stars bring fashions to Benicia
Four stars of the television show “Project Runway” will bring their fashions to Christina S Fashion Destination, 370 First St., from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
Melissa Fleis and her designs were featured not only on Season 10 but also in the “Project Runway” All-Star Season 3. Educated at the University of Michigan and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she earned her master of fine arts degree in fashion design, Fleis now is based in Los Angeles.
Her fashion lines have been described as inspired by the German art movements, leading to bold and edgy choices.
Daniel Esquivel of Austin, Texas, was featured on “Project Runway’s” 11th season as well as its All Star Season 3. His lines are described as expressive of his creative freedom in fashion, and he approaches his designs with energy and enthusiasm.
Samantha Black of Brooklyn, N.Y., learned under the mentorship of Jill Stuart, Michael Kors and at the late Alexander McQueen’s London design studio. Her designs blend sultry sophistication with fun. She was featured in both “Project Runway” Season 11 and in the program’s All Star Season 4.
Richard Hallmarq, also featured in “Project Runway” Season 11, is from Sacramento. Originally intending to be a professional singer and dancer, he became fascinated with fashion in high school, where he began designing and creating fashions for classmates.
His first runway show was in 2004, and since then he has had successful presentations of collections at San Francisco’s Fashion Week. His specialty is jersey-knit garments that range from business to celebrity red carpet events.
