Benicia’s new businesses are giving residents and visitors more opportunities to shop for new and vintage merchandise and find firms offering a variety of services.
Among the new retailers are Eco Barn Boutique, Suite P, 949 Grant St., and Love and Hate Clothing and Accessories, Suite D, 129 First St.
Eco Barn offers visitors a chance to browse through and buy nostalgia items — such as pictures, plates and placemats — as well as attire, from casual to dressy.
Love and Hate offers apparel with an edgier look, from onesies and toddler shirts to adult sizes. Local artist Landon Mau designed the new store’s logo.
Cantrell Portrait Design Inc. features the work of San Francisco photographer Bambi Cantrell, who specializes in individual, family, beauty, wedding and boudoir portraiture. Based on her own memories of looking at her family’s collections of pictures, she calls herself a “visual historian” who helps her clients capture memories.
Ernest A. Ocreto is putting Alii Sushi and Barbecue in the space at 2126 Columbus Parkway that opened up when Quiznos left.
The Law Offices of Patrick Campbell has opened at Suite 1, 333 First St. Suite 1, and Gold Key Properties, also called Gold Key Real Estate, is at Suite D, 101 East H St.
Automobiles also are getting attention. Owner Bill Hall has opened Two Hews Garage at Suite D, 320 West Channel Road.
Alamo Auto Brokers, owned by William Herbert Polsey and William Duane Polsey, is open at Suite A27, 1350 Hayes St.
And Scott’s Auto Repair Inc., owned by Cynthia Susi Jackson and Scott Zimmer, has opened at 3811 Sprig Drive.
The Benicia Herald’s weekly Benicia Business Beat column is an opportunity for local businesses and companies to tell our readers about such news as moves, grand openings, awards, promotion of employees, staff changes and changes in goods and services.
Submissions need to answer the questions who, what, when, where, why and how, preferably in the body of an email, and provide contact information.
Deadline is 3 p.m. Friday for news items that will appear in the next Tuesday’s Benicia Business Beat. Email news releases and accompanying high-resolution photographs and logos to beniciaherald@gmail.com, and put “Attn. Business Beat” in the subject line, as well as the name of the business.
