TRAINER DENNIS RODGERS, who specializes in deep tissue treatment that improves movement and alleviates pain, has joined the staff of Griffin Fitness, 1100 Rose Drive, Suite 160, said business partners Joel Griffin and Lisa McVeigh.
“Treatment of the feet, other lower extremities and hips can alleviate knee and lower back and even shoulder pain,” the two said, explaining that causes and discomfort are not always at the same site.
Rodgers offers a 30-day and 30-day-plus rejuvenate and rebuild program, they said.
The fitness company also has added the Griffin Girl line of women’s slip-resistant fitness pants, capris and shorts, with special stitching designed not to chafe and fabric that remains opaque and breathable when stretched.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom slates two job fairs
One of the largest employers in Solano County that has expanded into year-round operations, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will have two job fairs to fill more than 500 positions.
The job fairs will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday, Feb. 7, at the University of Phoenix, 5253 Business Center Drive, Suite B, Fairfield.
Applicants must be at least 15, and may attend the fair after submitting an online application at www.sixflags.com. Interviews will be conducted at the fair. Candidates attending the fair will be able to speak with park representatives the same day.
Those unable to attend the job fair are also eligible for interviews at the park in an innovative group hiring process, during which candidates interviewing for specific positions are grouped together and participate in games and interact with one another to determine how well they would work together.
While online, applicants may review available positions, which are in season admissions, guest relations, culinary services, retail, ride operations and games.
“We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest for the upcoming season,” said Kim Beiner, director of administration and human resources.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s 2015 season is under way with weekend and holiday operations. The park will be open daily for spring break, March 28 through April 12; and for Fridays and weekend dates from April 12 to May 17.
Daily summer operating dates are May 22 through Aug. 16, after which the park will be open weekends and several Fridays.
In fall, the park also will open for its popular Fright Fest event Fridays through Sundays until Nov. 1 before resuming weekend hours. Its annual Holiday in the Park event will take place weekends and select daily operating hours from Nov. 27 through Jan. 3, 2016.
“This is a great place to work when it comes to camaraderie, working in a rewarding and exciting environment and, of course, meeting new people all of the time,” Beiner said.
