THE DAILEY METHOD STUDIO, 991 Lincoln St., celebrated its new owners, Lee Sutherland and Jasmine Powers, with a ribbon cutting June 12.
Powers and Sutherland are both former students of the Dailey Method, and have taken classes directly with its creator. They have a team of instructors to teach the exercise program as well to help participants maintain proper body alignment outside of the studio.
Created by Jill Dailey McIntosh, the Dailey Method is a fusion of ballet barre work, core conditioning, Pilates-style exercise, yoga, muscle strengthening and orthopedic exercise focusing on body alignment.
“We both became teachers,” Powers said. “We still teach, and the Daily Method Benicia has truly changed our lives for the better, and now we are owners.”
Powers said the 2,000-square-foot studio in the Benicia Arsenal has plenty of parking and lockers, has a staffed child care room and an athletic apparel boutique.
Those interested may visit the studio’s website.
