Sonoma recognizes Kurt Busch with ticket discounts, credentials
In recognition of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kurt Busch’s attempt to compete in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600, Sonoma Raceway is welcoming fans to “Do The Double” at the track this summer.
“When you purchase any full-price Toyota/Save Mart 350 June 20-22 ticket before May 31, you can also purchase a half-priced ticket to the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, Aug. 22-24,” said Diana Brennan, senior director of media and community relation.
That puts the price of a lower grandstand ticket for the Grand Prix at $30, she said.
In addition, those who buy their Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ticket before May 31 will receive a free credential to attend the NASCAR Drivers’ Meeting inside Turn 11, Brennan said.
“The Double” is motorsports’ name for a driver’s competing in both the Indianapolis 500 for the Verizon IndyCar Series and NASCAR Sprint Cup’s Coca-Cola 600 the same day, she said. Busch is the first driver to attempt the feat in 10 years.
Those interested may call the track at 800-870-RACE (7223) or visit the website www.racesonoma.com/media/news/double-with-kurt-busch.html.
Tickets are $25 to $140 for single days, $95 to $180 for the weekend. Admission June 20 is free to children 12 and younger, and discounts for military members with identification also are available. Parking is free.
The Indianapolis 500 will be broadcast on ABC Sunday at 9 a.m. Pacific time, and the Coca-Cola 600 will be shown on FOX at 3 p.m. Pacific time.
